DC Srinagar inspects ongoing Reconstruction works of 700 year old Mangleshwar Bhairav Temple at Babadem
Takes on spot review of project for development of Khankah-I-Naqshband Sahib (RA) on heritage pattern
SRINAGAR MARCH 04:-The Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Saturday undertook a visit to Mangleshwar Bhairav Temple and Khankah Naqashband Sahib (RA) to inspect the progress of works undertaken for restoration, revival, preservation and maintenance of Architecture and Heritage of Religious Places/Assets in the District.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected ongoing Reconstruction works on 700-year-old Mangleshwar Bhairav Asthapan at Brari Nambal, Babadem undertaken at a cost of Rs 1.62 crore.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner was given first hand appraisal about the pace and progress of the Reconstruction works of Mangleshwar Bhairav Asthapan Temple being carried out by concerned executing agency on heritage pattern.
The DC was informed that work is going in full swing on different components of the project including reconstruction of main Temple, Guard Room and fixing of four overhead informatory directional signages.
The DC asked the concerned to speed up the pace of work and ensure preservation and maintenance of Architecture and Heritage of the site.
The DC asked them to take up the works on Deveri path from entrance to main temple along the canopy and also traditional Khatamband works on canopy ceiling and inside main temple.
The DC further asked the concerned to construct a washroom facility for the devotees, besides taking other landscaping and beautification works at the temple.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited Khankahi Naqashband Sahib(RA) in Nowhatta area of Shahr-e-Khaas of the District and took stock of the measure being taken for development of 500 years old Historic Khankahi Naqashband Sahib(RA), one of the finest examples of Kashmiri ancient and medieval wooden architecture.
On the occasion, the DC was informed that a detailed Project Report of Rs 6.50 crore has been prepared for the beautification and renovation of the Khankah.
The DC directed the concerned to take up the measure for physical works so that all works proposed in DPR are completed at the earliest. He also for speeding up the process of land acquisition undertaken to expand the Khankah compound.
The DC further asked them to construct a washroom at the shrine premises and ornamental grill around the Khankah of Naqashband Sahib (RA).
While interacting with the local members of the Khankah, the DC assured them that all possible measures will be taken to further beautify the Khankah of Naqashband Sahib (RA) on heritage pattern and upgrade the facilities for convenience of the devotees.
Besides, Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, the Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by the Executive Engineers of R&B, officers if Archives, Tourism and other concerned Departments.
