DC Srinagar presides over proceedings of Seva Sushasan Garib Kalyan at SP School held by Central Bureau of Communication

Urges youth to be Brand Ambassadors of Public Welfare Schemes of the government

SRINAGAR, July 12: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad on Wednesday presided over the 3rd proceedings of the 5-Day Multimedia Exhibition organised by the Central Bureau of Communication(CBC), Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, here at SP Higher Secondary School.

The Multimedia Exhibition on the Theme of 9 Years:Seva Sushasan Garib Kalyan is underway from July 10 to July 14, 2023 for Public Awareness about different Government sponsored Public Welfare schemes as well as to showcase the strides made by the Government in different sectors for inclusive development of the nation.

Addressing the gathering of Officers of District Administration Staff, Students, and Progressive Farmers, the Deputy Commissioner said that the welfare schemes of the government impact every household. Making special reference to the Ayushman Bharat – Sehat, Scholarship schemes and PM-KISAN, the DC said schemes like these have made life easy for the citizens.

Stressing on adequate public awareness regarding public welfare schemes, the DC impressed upon the youth especially students to be the Brand Ambassadors of these welfare schemes and help their families and communities to avail benefits. He said the Multimedia Exhibition on the 9 years’ achievements of the Government is only a reflection of the development that is evident around us.

The DC further mentioned the investment by Dubai based Emaar group in Srinagar and said that projects like these will generate employment opportunities for educated youth.

The DC congratulated the organizers and Principal SP Higher Secondary School for hosting such an awareness Multimedia Exhibition.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected the stalls setup by different Departments for public awareness and on the spot delivery of services.

Joint Director, CBC, J&K and Ladakh region Ghulam Abbas in his welcome address expressed gratitude to all the stakeholders and participants for turning up in great numbers to visit the exhibition. He informed the visitors about objectives of outreach programs of the CBC and also impressed upon the students to dedicate their youthful energies for upliftment of the poor and vulnerable sections of the society. He said the last nine years have been dedicated by the Government to the   service of the poor and marginalised.

The 3rd day of the event was dedicated to the awareness of the schemes launched for the welfare of Farmers. Chief Agriculture Officer, Manohar Lal Sharma briefed about the activities and achievements of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. Resource persons from Departments of Agriculture and Horticulture as well as Centre for Financial Literacy also spoke on the occasion.

Chief Education Officer, Srinagar Mohammad Shabir, Chief Horticulture Officer, Veshno Kumar,  Principal, SP Higher Secondary School, Nisar Ahmad were present on the occasion.

Earlier in the day an open quiz competition for students was held and the empanelled private registered troupe(PRT) of the CBC presented theme based cultural programs as part of CBC’s policy of the integrated communication and outreach policy.
