DC Udhampur conducts extensive tour of Ghordi block to monitor developmental works

UDHAMPUR, April 06: Deputy Commissioner, Krittika Jyotsna conducted an extensive tour of Ghordi block to monitor the status and progress of ongoing developmental works being executed by different sectors in the district. During the tour, she inspected various roads under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and Public Works Department (PWD), including the upgradation of Udhampur Ghordi and Khubani to Tarmara, Nagrota Panjgrain to Chanunta road.

The DC interacted with elected members of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and listened to their issues and demands. She directed executing agencies to expedite the pace of progress and ensure timely completion. She asked the executing agency to gear up men and machinery and complete the ongoing works within the stipulated time frame.

Jyotsana also stressed on early completion and maintenance of these roads while keeping quality as a top priority.

During her visit to Government Higher Secondary School Ghordi, she inaugurated CCTV cameras and inspected Salmay bridge. She added that the installation of CCTV cameras in classrooms would work for the safety of students, prevent theft incidents, help curb drug menace etc. District Development Council (DDC) member Rakesh Chander Sharma had given grants for the installation of CCTV cameras.

Block Development Council (BDC) Chairman Ghordi, Aarti Sharma; DDC member, Rakesh Chander Sharma and other officers besides PRI members accompanied the DC during her tour.
