DC Udhampur presides over weekly Block Diwas at Panchari, takes a series of decisions on-spot

UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 9: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya, today presided over the weekly Block Diwas meeting at Panchari, to provide doorstep governance to people and fast-track the redressal of grievances at all levels.

The Block Diwas was attended by district officers, besides BDC Chairman, Jeevan Sharma, DDC Member, Jasvir Singh, Divisional Forest Officer Rushal Garg, Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, Block Development Officer, Dr. Amit Bhagat, besides PRIs from adjoining Panchayats.

During the event, PRI members and local residents of different panchayats of Block Panchari raised several issues and demands. They demanded meeting of staff shortage in educational and health institutions, blacktopping of the road from Kainth Gali to Galiote, rationalization of teaching staff, establishment of parking facilities in Sankri Devta, inclusion of the area on the tourism map, blacktopping link roads, filling of potholes etc.

Sachin Kumar Vaishya, promptly addressed many grievances on the spot by issuing directions to the respective officers. He assured the PRIs and the general public that all genuine issues would be addressed within a specific timeframe.

Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur highlighted the significance of such platforms in enabling the district administration to understand the multifaceted problems faced by the public.

In his directives, the DC, Udhampur urged the concerned officers to prioritize the resolution of public demands and to submit a detailed report on pending issues. This report would be forwarded to higher authorities for consideration. He emphasized that all demands must be documented and redressed on a priority basis.

Additionally, he emphasized that the active participation of PRIs is essential for the successful implementation of all development works.
