DC visits ZSWO Kupwara; assures support for the welfare of Ex-servicemen fraternity
KUPWARA, December 09: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today paid a visit to Zila Sainik Welfare Office Kupwara to interact with the Ex-servicemen and War Widows.
Colonel 28 Div, A. Surrender Singh, District Sainik Welfare Officer, Sahibzada Niyaz, HA, Nissar Ahmad, Ex-servicemen and War Widows were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the DC interacted with the Ex-servicemen and Widows and enquired about their day to day activities and issues.
The DC assured all possible support from the District Administration for the welfare of the ex-servicemen, widows and their wards. She also handed-over some gifts to the war widows.
Ayushi asked the Ex-servicemen to make their Golden Cards so as to take advantage of free healthcare facilities in the recognized hospitals in addition to their ECHS scheme.
Meanwhile, the District Sainik Welfare Officer also briefed the DC about organizational structure of the board including strength of Ex-Servicemen, Gallantry Awardees and other welfare activities of the Zila Sainik Welfare Board Kupwara. He also put forth various grievances pertaining to Ex-servicemen before the DC including repair/renovation of the District Office building.
Earlier, 2 min silence was observed in the memory of the martyrs of the nation.
