He categorized the installation of smart meters as a scam, causing considerable distress to the people in the form of exorbitant electricity bills and unnecessary power cuts, particularly affecting those belonging to the lower-income bracket. The installation of smart meters is not less than a disaster for them. He said on one hand government has failed to provide jobs to our educated youth and on the other hand the poor is being crushed under boots by imposing harsh taxes with the passing of each day.

Yogesh Sawhney strongly criticized the government’s imposition of property tax in Jammu and Kashmir without consulting the elected representatives. He called upon the government to halt the betrayal of the people of Jammu region and take their concerns into consideration before implementing such policies. He emphasized that the citizens will deliver a resounding response to the BJP’s approach in the forthcoming elections.

Hari Singh Chib, while addressing the protesters, highlighted the plight of the people in the Jammu region who have fallen victim to the hollow policies of the BJP government at the Centre. He stated that instead of addressing the pressing issues faced by the people, the government is burdening them with one tax after another. He emphasized that unemployment is at its peak in Jammu and Kashmir, and the soaring prices of essential commodities have made it even more arduous for the common people.

Chib further criticized the government for its apparent lack of concern in resolving these crucial issues. He warned the government that if the decision regarding electric smart prepaid meters and property tax and Toll plaza sarrore is not rolled back, the people of the Jammu region will take to the streets in protest.

The protesting Congress leaders asked the government to reconsider its decisions and prioritize the welfare of the people failing which the people of Jammu have no other option left to come on roads.
