DCO organises Awareness Camp under Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan at Shopian

Awareness raised among Chemists about their responsibilities towards Substance Abuse menace

SHOPIAN, September 20: Drug Control Organisation (DCO) Shopian in collaboration with Shopian Chemists and Distributors Association today organised an awareness programme under the aegis of Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan in order to sensitize them about their responsibilities towards the Substance Abuse menace.

Chemists of the area were sensitized regarding the scenario of drug abuse and its consequences on our society.

Guidelines were shared with chemists and distributors regarding the proper maintenance of records of drugs which are prone to addiction.

Deputy Drug Controller, Kashmir Division emphasized upon the chemists to ensure installation of CCTV cameras and computerized billing system and share responsibilities in eradication of drug abuse.

Assistant Drugs Controller, Pulwama/ Shopian instructed the chemists not to dispense any habit forming drugs without the prescription of a registered medical practitioner.
