DDC Baramulla chairs DLTFC meeting; approves 66 Cases under JKREGP scheme

BARAMULLA, JULY 23: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today chaired a meeting of the District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC), wherein 66 cases were approved under the Jammu & Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) for the year 2024-25.


This significant approval aims to provide financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries in the district, facilitating the establishment of income-generating units and fostering local employment.


During the meeting, various cases were presented before the DLTFC, seeking financial assistance from different banks. These cases involved unemployed youth of Baramulla aiming to set up diverse income-generating units, including manufacturing, Dairy, Sheep, Poultry, Grocery Stores, Readymade Garments, Cutting and Tailoring, and Bakery establishments.


The committee meticulously screened and scrutinized all the cases, evaluating the physical and financial viability of the proposed projects, as well as the entrepreneurial skills of the applicants. Following a thorough analysis, 66 cases were approved for credit linkage through financial institutions.


Speaking on the occasion, DDC highlighted the importance of the JKREGP scheme in empowering local youth by providing them opportunities to establish their own ventures. He emphasized that the approved projects are expected to generate substantial employment opportunities, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the district.


The approved cases under the JKREGP scheme mark a crucial step towards boosting rural entrepreneurship and self-employment among the youth in Baramulla.
