DDC B’la reviews implementation of AMRUT 2.0

Directs for coordinated approach to ensure successful implementation of the scheme


BARAMULLA, JULY 16: With an aim to enhance urban infrastructure and quality of life, the District Development Commissioner (DDC), Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today chaired a meeting of the District Level Advisory and Monitoring Committee focused on the implementation of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 scheme in urban areas of the district.


At the outset, the DDC was provided with a comprehensive briefing about the current status of various projects under AMRUT 2.0 and the strategies for the wholesome implementation of the scheme.


The meeting covered a wide range of aspects towards urban development with water supply projects a primary focus, along with strategies for improving sewerage and septage management. The committee also discussed initiatives for storm water drainage to reduce flooding in urban areas.


During the meeting, the DDC emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts in realizing the objectives of AMRUT 2.0 and directed all concerned departments and agencies to work in tandem to ensure the smooth execution of the scheme.


Minga Sherpa further directed the officers present to ensure all the projects under AMRUT 2.0 are completed in a time bound manner and commissioned for the public benefit.


The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer Baramulla, Javaid Ahmad Superintending Engineer Hydraulic, Executive Engineer Jal Jeevan Mission, other concerned officers overseeing the implementation of AMRUT 2.0, flagship program of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
