DDC Chairman visits Government Medical College Doda

DODA, JUNE 16: Chairman District Development Council, Dhanantar Singh Kotwal today visited Government Medical College Doda to assess the functioning of the hospital and review the patient care, sanitation conditions, staff attendance and machinery required for smooth operations.
During the visit, the DDC chairman inspected different wards of the hospital and met with patients and doctors. He also had a discussion with the Principal of GMC, Dr Puja Vimesh regarding the doctors’ roster and the sanitation condition of the hospital. Concerned about emergency situations, he directed the officials to make arrangements for 24*7 ambulance availability and stressed the need for efficient handling of patient referrals.
The Chairman particularly stressed on availability of sufficient bed capacity in paediatrics ward. He urged the concerned authorities to maintain a proper and continuous roster arrangement for pediatric specialists. He also took note of the shortage of doctors in the hospital and emphasized the importance of addressing this issue.
Later, the Chairman held a meeting with the Medical College Principal attended by the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Accounts Officer of GMC Doda, and other officials.
The meeting discussed issues related to the hospital’s functioning and upgrading of the patient care. The GMC Principal gave a detailed resume on the functioning of the hospital and availability of different diagnostic facilities.
The chairman stressed on preventing the dumping of garbage and waste in the hospital’s surroundings. He directed the Executive Officer MC Doda to take strict action against those responsible and prevent any drainage towards the hospital premises.
The chairman expressed confidence in the Principal’s commitment to enhancing the hospital’s performance, ensuring better healthcare services for the community.
