DDC Chairperson, DC Budgam inaugurate various developmental projects at Baba Hanief-U-Din Shrine, Rathsun

Beerwah has tremendous potential for Heritage tourism: Akshay Labroo

BUDGAM, October 07: The District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson, Nazir Ahmad Khan and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo today inaugurated various developmental works at the Shrine of Baba Hanief-U-Din Reshi in Rathsun, Beerwah.

Among other, projects inaugurated today include  façade development, viewpoint, parking facility, lavatory complex at the Shrine of Baba Hanief-U-Din.

The DC after paying obeisance at the Shrine, also met local delegations.

DDC Chairman, Nazir Ahmad Khan who spoke on the occasion expressed his gratitude to the LG Administration for paying special attention to Budgam and ensuring immense development in the district. 

He said that under the abled directions and guidance of Hon’ble LG Manoj Sinha, the new era of development has initiated and immense development of roads, power resources, JJM works including OHTs, reservoirs has taken place in every village to facilitate better facilities of amenities to the general public in Jammu and Kashmir.

DDC Chairman also lauded the district administration for ensuring completion of  all developmental works in a stipulated timeframe. 

He said that District Administration Budgam has been extending its full support in seeing these projects completed in time and ensuring holistic development of Beerwah.

Speaking on the occasion, DC said Beerwah has tremendous potential for pilgrimage tourism and sites including Shrine of Baba Hanief-U-Din Reshi and Bhairava Cave of Abhinav Gupt ji are best locations to be developed as pilgrimage tourism sites for their heritage and landscape values.

DC said that the Shrine of Hanief-U-Din was badly hit and destroyed during the turmoil, however, the  government made all efforts to restore its pristine glory by redevelopment of shrine façade and created all basic facilities at the scared place.

The DC appreciated the concerned SDM and Executive Engineer for ensuring completion of works in given timeline.

He also expressed gratitude to District Development Council Budgam for its support in ensuring holistic plan formation and development.

The DC reiterated that Beerwah has tremendous potential for Heritage tourism and hoped that an increase in tourist footfall would enhance the livelihood opportunities of locals as well.
