DDC Chairperson, DC Udhampur lead Amrit Kalash Yatra 

    UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 12: An impressive Amrit Kalash Yatra was organized by the District Administration of Udhampur, commencing from the Block Development Office in Udhampur which culminated at pious Devika Ghat.

This event was part of the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign and was marked by patriotic slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” “Vande Mataram,” and “Meri Mati Mera Desh.”The Yatra received ‘Amrit Kalash’ from 47 Panchayats of Block Udhampur and 21 wards of Udhampur Municipal Council.

  DDC Chairperson Udhampur Lal Chand,  Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, Additional District Development Commissioner Ghan Sham Singh, Additional SP Anwar-Ul-Haq, ACD Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, former Minister Pawan Kumar Gupta, councillors, Sarpanches, Panches, prominent citizens, students, and staff members of local schools.

  The Yatra’s route took it through Sailan Talab, Chabutra Bazaar, Gole Market, and concluded at Devika Ghat Udhampur.

 At Devika Ghat, the District Administration organized an impressive program featuring theme-based cultural performances and Nukkad Natak by local artists and students from educational institutions. The Panch Pran pledge was also administered to the participants.

  While briefing the media, DDC Chairperson and DC emphasized the significance of this initiative, stressing the importance of remembering the sacrifices of our martyrs. They highlighted the resonance of the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ initiative with the people and its role in connecting individuals with their cultural roots. Additionally, they explained how Amrit Kalash Yatras serve as a means to educate people about the sacrifices made by freedom fighters during the struggle for independence.

Later, the families of the brave martyrs were honored  by DDC Chairperson, Deputy Commissioner, and other dignitaries.
