DDC Chairperson Ganderbal visits several areas of district to assess issues, needs of people

GANDERBAL, AUGUST 05: The Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq today visited several areas of the district to take stock of various issues and problems being faced by the people.

During the visit to various areas including Dangerpora, Sonerpora Theeru and other surrounding areas, people raised issues regarding development of sports fields, drinking water, construction of school buildings and other issues and demands.

At Sonerpora Theeru, people raised the issue of drinking water pipeline catering to the whole area, and upgradation of roads in the area. They also raised the issue of facing lots of inconvenience due to shortage of drinking water, on which the DDC Chairperson directed the AEE Jal Shakti for augmentation of the pipeline.

At Middle School Sonerpora Theeru, the Chairperson DDC checked the attendance of teachers, staff position in the school, accommodation position, toilet and drinking water facilities and status of books and uniform available to the students besides school building was also reviewed and necessary instructions were given to the concerned officers to mitigate them.

At Dangerpora and Sonerpora people raised the issue of development of sports fields. People of Dangerpora also demanded development of the park. DDC Chairperson on spot issued necessary directions to the District Officer Youth Services and Sports and also to the Block Development Officer for the upgradation and development of sports fields and the park.

During the extensive tour, Chairperson DDC Ganderbal empathetically listened to the grievances, concerns and aspirations of the residents of these villages.

On the occasion, she expressed her commitment at making sure that the citizens of the district have access to basic amenities that are needed for a healthy and prosperous life.
