DDC Chairperson Udhampur kick starts construction work of Water Supply Scheme Hartaryan
UDHAMPUR, July 24: Chairman District Development Council Udhampur, Lal Chand, today kick-started the work of Water Supply Scheme Panchayat Hartaryan in presence of Chairperson Block Development Council, Udhampur Balwan Singh, Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Hartaryan, Nishat Akhtar, Panch Altaf Hussain, PRI Members besides officials of PHE department and other prominent persons of the village.
The WSS Hartaryan project will be executed at a cost of Rs. 7.66 cr. The project is a Lift Water Supply Scheme and will cover every household of the area. Once completed, every household in the vicinity will get clean tap water thus overcoming the problem of dearth of potable water.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson congratulated the local populace and expressed hope that the pace of development in Block Udhampur would remain the same. He appreciated the efforts of PRI Members in accelerating the developmental activities in the Panchayat. Additionally, he acknowledged the Jal Shakti Department officers’ efforts and urged them to see to it that all approved projects are started and finished in time to make it easier to provide tap water to every home and habitation. The “Har Ghar Nal Se Jal” objective of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also emphasised by him.
Earlier, the Chairman also inaugurated work on WSS Kambal Danga (Sunari) costing Rs.9.61 cr. This scheme will also contribute to WSS- Hartaryan to some extent. At the end, he congratulated the PRI and locals of the area and urged them to maintain the pace of work in the region.
