DDC Doda reviews progress of JJM works
‘185 projects costing Rs 748.31 Crore being executed in the District’
DODA, MARCH 04: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, who is also Chairman of the Jal Jeevan Mission, today reviewed the progress made under Jal Shakti Mission in the district.
The meeting was informed that as many as 185 projects being executed in the district at a total tender cost of ₹ 748.31Crore, are at different stages of progress.
After a thorough review, the DC stressed on the importance of timely completion of the Jal Shakti Mission projects to provide safe and sustainable drinking water supply to all households in the district.
The meeting was attended by key officials from the JJM, Public Health Engineering Department, Rural Development Department and other concerned departments.
Different components of the works, such as the dug wells, installation of hand pumps, bore-wells, sand filtration tanks, slow sand filtration tanks, and maintenance of existing infrastructure, were discussed in detail.
The officials presented a comprehensive report on the progress made so far and highlighted the challenges encountered during the implementation of the mission. The DC directed all departments to collaborate closely and expedite the implementation process to achieve the mission’s objectives within the stipulated timeframe.
DC issued specific directives to concerned officers and officials asking for maintaining proper household records, completion of filtration tanks, restoration of dysfunctional hand pumps and tapping into natural water resources.
