DDC Doda reviews RDD sector; Sets target for completion of all Capex works before the onset of winters
DODA, OCTOBER 12: District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan, reviewed the functioning of the Rural Development Department (RDD) in the district here today. The meeting also reviewed the Block level Amrit Kalash Yatras under Meri Maati Mera Desh (MMMD) campaign, and it was revealed that in 16 out of 17 blocks, the grand functions have been held celebrating the unity and pride being citizens of great nation, the Bharat. It was also revealed that at district level celebration in this regard shall be held on 22nd of October, when all the Block Amrit Kalashs reach District headquarter.
DDC, while reviewing the block wise progress, has urged officers to speed up the works and complete all before the onset of winters this year. He has directed to submit block wise status of works showing works approved, alloted, started on ground and completed, on every Saturday by 7pm from this week onwards.
The DDC has instructed not to send the corrigendum on non-feasible works beyond the 15th of October 2023. Additionally, he has issued directions to renovate the office buildings and remove junk from the offices to give aesthetics look to the government offices. Instructions have also been issued to clear all the pending files by 31st of October 2023. Further the directions have been passed to complete all Capex work by the 31th of December 2023, all alloted works by 30th of November, and all the works not alloted yet must be alloted by the coming Wednesday.
The meeting thoroughly reviewed the status of approved, allotted, and ongoing works taken up in hand under various schemes till date. Meeting also discussed person days (PDs) generated under MGNREGA, SBM- G, PMAY- G, MPLAD, Amrit Sarovars, APDP etc.
The meeting was informed that the district under Capex Budget 2023-24 has approved 2147 works, out of which 1629 works have been alloted, and most of them have been started on ground. It was further informed that all the 67 ongoing (SOS) works have been physically completed by the RDD in Doda.
While reviewing the status of the works under the current plan of MNREGA 2023-24, it was informed that this year a total of 33% Person Days (PDs) have been generated till date, and the district stands at 95% in timely payments under MGNREGA. The works completed under MGNREGA are 477.
Assessing completion of PMAY houses, the DDC has set target of completion of all houses by the end of November 2023.
DDC also directed the BDO’s to serve the notices within 7 days to those beneficiaries who have received the first installment but not started the construction of their PMAY houses yet. If again they fail to start the work then their land will be attached to the revenue department with immediate effect.
DDC urged the officers to be more visible and available on ground. Speed up the execution of approved works maintaining the quality and adhering to the timeline.
The DDC said that the RDD is capable of transforming socio-economic standards of underprivileged and weaker sections of rural parts of the UT, and urged officers to work with a pro-active and people friendly approach to make their blocks a model entity for inspiration of others.
