DDC Kupwara chairs Gram Sabha at Manigah Hyhama for GPDP preparation
KUPWARA, April 10: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray today chaired Gram Sabha at far flung Panchayat Manigah-C in Kupwara district.
Addressing the gathering, the DDC said that Gram Sabhas were held in all 385 panchayats of Kupwara district today and the objective of holding the Gram Sabhas was approval of Gram Panchayat Developmental Plan (GPDP) for financial year 2023-24.
He said the GPDP is the basic platform for the holistic development of villages. This public participatory process involves full convergence of centrally sponsored schemes and UT level schemes for registering overall development at grass root level.
In his speech, the DDC familiarized the people with the concept of GPDP and said that this system has revolutionized the rural economy of the district. He said gone are the days when people used to visit officers for resolving their developmental issues adding that today all officers are participating in Gram Sabhas in the Panchayats at the doorsteps of the people.
The DDC gave a detailed account of the success of Government schemes at ground level including AYUSMAN Bharat, PMGSY, PM-KISSAN and JJM. He said the doors of administration and officers are always open for the common people to hear and redress their issues.
On the occasion, the DDC also resolved various issues by giving onspot directions to the officers.
The DDC Member Hyhama, Haji Sonaullah, ACD Kupwara, Hilal Ahmad Mir and PRIs also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the Gram Panchayat Development Plan proposed by the Panchayat Committee was put forth before the general public for deliberate discussion & approval.
Gram Sabhas were also held in all Panchayats of the district which were attended by Prabhari Officers, PRIs, officers of line departments, field functionaries and general public.
