DDC Kupwara inspects ISC Galizoo, other sports infrastructure
Directs concerned Officers to expeditiously complete the Project
KUPWARA, MAY 29: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today visited Galizoo Stadium here to inspect the final stage of work on Indoor Sports Complex (ISC) at Galizoo Kupwara.
The DDC directed the concerned executing agency (R&B) to ramp up the pace of the work and complete it before 10th June, 2024, so that it is handed over to the YS&S Department.
She instructed the DYS&SO Kupwara to make the Indoor Sports stadium fully functional immediately after it is handed over by the executing agency, so that a vibrant indoor sports culture is fostered here and sports talents of the youth are nurtured in the best possible manner.
While meticulously scrutinizing the status of other sports infrastructure at the venue, DDC directed the concerned officers to ensure repair of washrooms, electrification and renovation of nearby dug wells.
DYS&SO was instructed to maintain the out-door sports stadium Galizoo by way of its cleanliness, beautification and landscaping.
On the occasion, DDC interacted with local youth, officials of the Department of YS&S, to gain insights into the execution of projects and initiatives of the youth engagement.
The DDC took the appraisal regarding the completion of the Lolab Bye-Pass road and directed the Ex. Engineer, R&B to speed up the work of this important road project so that commuters do not face inconvenience.
The DDC was accompanied by CPO Kupwara, Parvaiz Ahmad Lone, Ex. Engineer R&B, Farooq Ahmad and District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kupwara, Zahoor Ahmed Wani.
