DDC Kupwara reviews progress of JJM in district
KUPWARA, June 27: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, who is also Chairperson of District Jal Jeevan Mission Committee Tuesday, convened a meeting at DC office complex Kupwara to review the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.
On the occasion, the DDC took a detailed review of tendering, work allotment, execution and timely completion of JJM schemes.
She received feedback from the concerned engineers regarding measures taken for timely completion of JJM schemes.
Superintending Engineer, Er. Mohammad Saleem Malik while briefing the chair about the progress of different schemes of the JJM through a detailed PowerPoint presentation (PPT) said that 107 schemes under JJM with project cost of 615.14 crores are going on in the district for the current financial year.
It was informed in the meeting that a total of 265 works have been tendered in the district and 161 works have been allotted and 11 works have been completed and 72 non-responsive works have been retendered.
Regarding the coverage of households, the meeting was informed that out of total 1,56,456 households, 1,20,000 households have been covered under (FHTC) functional household tap connection, while the rest of households are targeted to be covered.
While reviewing the progress of execution and completion of Dug wells, the DDC gave a timeline of one month to concerned engineers to complete all the dug wells in the district.
She instructed the engineers of JJM to increase the pipeline availability so that pipeline requirement in the district suffices and people do not face any inconvenience.
The DDC directed ADC Handwara to get all the issues resolved which creep up while laying the pipeline network in Handwara and Tarathpora areas.
She directed concerned Tehsildars to play their active role in resolving the obstructions and impediments coming in the way of execution of PHE schemes in the district.
The DDC appreciated the positive role being played by line departments including Forest, R&B, Irrigation & flood control, PMGSY and Revenue in execution of JJM schemes in the district.
She stressed on gearing up all resources to speed up the progress on execution of all the works and their timely completion.
The DDC directed line departments to strictly ensure the restoration of a particular road patches within the shortest possible time where roads get damaged while laying the pipelines.
She also directed all the engineers and concerned officers to work in coordination and complete synergy, and ensure smooth execution of JJM schemes in the district.
JD Planning, Ex. Engineers of PHE Kupwara, PHE Handwara, PMGSY, Irrigation & Flood control, CMO Kupwara, DIO Kupwara; AEEs and other concerned were present in the meeting.
