DDC, President MC inaugurate Job Fair at Ramban
DE&CC registers 850 job seekers for 390 vacancies in various companies
RAMBAN, OCTOBER 04: District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Musarat Islam and President Municipal Council Ramban, Sunita Sumbria, inaugurated a Job Fair in the Government Model Higher Secondary School, Ramban today. The fair was organized by the District Employment & Counselling Centre for the third quarter of the current financial year.
Among others present were ADC Ramban, Harbans Lal; Tehsildar Ramban, Harveer Singh; Assistant Director Employment, Dr. Sushant Mahajan; EO, MC, Sudarshan Jamwal; Career Counselling, Officer, Aamir Hassan, several other officers of line departments, representatives of recruiting companies & other officials of DE&CC Ramban.
Hundreds of jobseekers flocked to Government Model Higher Secondary School, Ramban to register themselves for different jobs as advised by the District Employment & Counselling Centre.
Appreciating the initiative of DE&CC, the District Development Commissioner encouraged unemployed job seekers to take advantage of this opportunity. He also motivated participants to go for skill training, self-employment and into the private sector.
The DDC said that the Job Fair aims at providing a platform to the unemployed youth of District Ramban through various Job Opportunities and Self Employment Avenues. It focuses on enhancing the employability skills of youth and providing various services via online mode.
He also encouraged youth to work hard for their bright career by cracking the UPSC and JKPSC exams.
Interacting with the participants, the President Municipal Council Ramban, emphasized on the importance of realizing the opportunities provided by the Government under different schemes of various departments.
About 850 job seekers applied on spot for 390 vacancies offered by 15 employers at the event and over 200 applicants were shortlisted for these vacancies & 10 candidates were offered Appointment letters on the spot.
Moreover 350 candidates registered themselves with the employment department. Awareness regarding various government schemes were also imparted to the youth by the different line departments
Speaking on the occasion Assistant Director Employment, Dr. Sushant Mahajan shared the concern of unemployed youth in seeking jobs & urged the companies to engage maximum youth.
Meanwhile, Love Preet Singh, from Ministry of Labour and Employment GOI, represented the National Career Scheme (NCS) Portal for getting the jobs to unemployed youth along with courses available on NCS portal.
Later, the chief guests handed over the appointment letters to the beneficiaries selected during the Job fair.
