DDC Rajouri reviews performance of Jal Shakti Department
Work on 293 JJM schemes in progress
RAJOURI, February ,11: – District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, conducted a comprehensive review of the performance of Jal Shakti Department with special focus on the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission. The review revealed the district’s impressive strides towards providing access to clean and safe water to all its residents.
The meeting was informed that 293 schemes have been sanctioned for the district, including 671 components, of which 282 have already been allotted. Work on most of the allotted projects has already commenced.
During the meeting, the District Development Commissioner highlighted the importance of the Jal Jeevan Mission, a flagship program of the Indian government aimed at providing piped water to every rural household by 2024. The review highlighted the district’s commitment to achieving the mission’s goals and ensuring access to clean and safe water for all its residents.
The DDC emphasized the need for 100% allocation to ensure the timely completion of the schemes, which will bring a significant improvement in the quality of life for the people of Rajouri. The DDC also directed the Mechanical and Ground Water Department to expedite the installation of machinery and bore wells in the district, as this will go a long way in ensuring that the projects are completed on time and the people of Rajouri have access to clean and safe water.
The ISA was directed to activate all Pani Samitis, local-level committees responsible for the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the villages. The DDC stressed the need to ensure that the Jal Jeevan Mission is implemented efficiently in the district to ensure that the people of Rajouri receive access to clean and safe water.
The District Development Commissioner Rajouri also directed the Officers to ensure joint sittings to resolve the minor issues and expedite the process of providing clean and safe water to the people of Rajouri.
