DDC Reasi conducts extensive tour of Block Katra; inspects development works

REASI, May 03: To assess the progress and evaluate the quality of the developmental works & identify the challenges and issues requiring on-spot redressal, District development Commissioner, Reasi Babila Rakwal today conducted an extensive tour of Block Katra.

The DDC inspected different ongoing and completed projects of R&B, PMGSY and Jal Shakti Department. She was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner, PO, ICDS, Executive Engineers of PWD(R&B),Katra/ PMGSY , Reasi/ Jal Shakti, Reasi. CEO & CMO, Reasi.

The DDC inspected major ongoing roads of PWD(R&B) department constructed under NABARD, city & town schemes and PMGSY Roads. She directed the executing agencies to expedite the works and complete the projects within prescribed timelines. She also inspected the progress on works of Rural Development Department (RDD) taken up under Area Development Fund. Besides, she also inspected the Community Sanitary Complex (CSC) built under Swachh Bharat Mission(SBM) at panchayat Aghar-Jitto. She appreciated the ongoing work of the CSC unit.

The Deputy Commissioner also inspected Anganwadi Centers located at Panchayat Didi Pangal and Kalmua of Block Katra and interacted with adolescent girls, nursing mothers and children present. She took detailed review regarding the activities conducted under POSHAN and supplementary nutrition/take home rations being provided to the beneficiaries.

Later, she also visited Govt. Higher secondary School (Boys) Katra and inspected ongoing work of additional class rooms and library being constructed under Samagra Shiksha. She directed the technical wing of Samagra Shiksha to complete the construction work in a timely and efficient manner. She also inspected the  Kindergarten functioning  in the school and interacted with kids.

Further, the Deputy Commissioner inspected under construction GSR of 30,000 gallon capacity at Latori-Dhanori and directed the contractor present at the site to complete the work at the earliest. Besides, she also visited the completed Reservoir built under JJM at Arli Hansli and directed the executive engineer to immediately start laying of the distribution line.

Earlier, she visited the Drug and Substance Abuse Counseling Centre in the CHC Katra and also inspected the proposed site of Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP). She directed the health department to immediately send the DPR of ETP for approval.

The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with PRIs and locals of various Panchayats and sought feedback of various developmental activities being executed in their Panchayats.
