DDC Reasi inaugurates Foot Bridge providing Connectivity to 10 Villages in Lower Talwara

REASI, December 16: District Development Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, on Saturday inaugurated a newly constructed footbridge at Lower Talwara. The footbridge, built at an estimated cost of  Rs 16 lakh, provided a vital link connecting 10 villages.

After the inauguration, DDC Mahajan engaged with the local residents, addressing their concerns and aspirations. The community projected several demands and sought improved road connectivity and the establishment of a dispensary. Responding to the demands, the DDC assured that their genuine needs will be addressed within a specified time frame.

The DDC advised residents to focus on the education of children, particularly girls, emphasizing the importance of academic development.

DDC Mahajan encouraged the local community to leverage the region’s potential for rafting tourism. He suggested creating facilities for visitors, such as providing quality food and other essentials, as a means for the locals to generate self-income. He said the footbridge stands as a symbol of progress, fostering connectivity and facilitating the daily lives of the residents in Lower Talwara and surrounding villages.

The Deputy Commissioner thanked ICICI foundation for contributing this one and seven other bridges to the people of the district . He said that he expects the ICICI shall keep on contributing towards the welfare of the people under various schemes.
