DDC Reasi reviews performance of I&C, POSHAN Departments

REASI, NOVEMBER 23: District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan today conducted a thorough review of the POSHAN Department’s performance here in the DC office Complex . The meeting focused on the implementation of different components of Poshan Abhiyan, aiming at comprehensive nourishment of children, pregnant women, lactating mothers and adolescent girls. The Project Officer provided a detailed overview of ongoing initiatives, achievements, and future plans within the district.

The DDC instructed officials to ensure saturation under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojna (PMMVY) by cross-checking health department data on pregnant and lactating mothers. This step is essential to guarantee that all eligible women benefit from the scheme. Furthermore, officers were directed to collaborate with the health department in identifying unvaccinated children.

In a strategic move, the DDC issued directives for the relocation of Anganwadi Centers to non-functional government buildings, maximizing existing infrastructure for efficient Anganwari service delivery. CDPOs were tasked to conduct comprehensive visits to every Anganwadi Center by December 20, strengthening monitoring and evaluation processes.

Encouraging collective responsibility, DDC Mahajan urged district officers to adopt one Anganwadi Center each, emphasizing the shared goal of enhancing child nutrition.

Later, a meeting to review the working of Industrial and Allied Sectors in the district was also chaired by the DDC.

The General Manager of the District Industries Centre provided insights into industrial units, employment generation, and schemes under the New Industrial Policy.

DDC stressed on the importance of meticulous planning to position Reasi as a favorable investment destination nationwide.
