DDC reviews Drug abuse control measures in Reasi
REASI, March 01: District Development Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan on Friday chaired the monthly meeting of the Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) to review the measures taken to curb narcotics smuggling and drug addiction in the district.
The DDC gave away drug testing Kits to the heads of Government Degree Colleges to facilitate routine checking of students, ensuring they are not involved in any form of drug abuse. He emphasized the importance of organizing Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities in educational institutions to raise awareness among children about the adverse effects of narcotics.
The DDC directed the Forest, Public Works Department (PWD), and Agriculture departments to remove Cannabis sativa from roadside areas. Additionally, Tehsildars were instructed to identify and ensure that no poppy crops are cultivated in their respective areas.
The Drug Inspector informed that licenses of four erring medical shops in Reasi district were suspended for one week during inspections.
ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, ADC Kulbhushan Khajuria, PO Poshan Mohd Anwar Banday, ACD, CMO and other district officers were present.
