DEA Shopian honours first time voters, first voters of the day in a novel initiative

SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 18: On a momentous day for democracy, the polling process began early morning today across the 36-Zainapora and 37-Shopian Assembly Constituencies, with voters turning out in large numbers to participate in the electoral process.

The District Election Authority (DEA) went above and beyond to make this election a memorable occasion, particularly for first-time voters and voters who reported first in the polling stations.

District Election Officer, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar along with SSP, Anayat Ali honoured some of these voters at the polling stations.

In an inspiring and unique initiative, the District Administration honoured these first-time voters, who symbolize the new wave of democratic participation in Shopian with certificates of appreciation and a token of love and gratitude.

At every polling station, special certificates of appreciation were distributed to the first time voters, acknowledging their contribution to shaping the future of the district.

The move was met with widespread enthusiasm, as it highlighted the district’s commitment to inclusivity in the democratic process.

The atmosphere at polling stations was one of excitement and pride. The young voters, some accompanied by their families, proudly casted their first votes, marking a significant milestone in their lives.

Many expressed their joy, noting how welcomed and encouraged they felt by the District Administration’s efforts.

As polling continues, the District Administration is closely monitoring operations to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and orderly election process at all polling stations.
