DE&CC Ganderbal organises day-long Job Fair at Duderhama
GANDERBAL, August 8: The District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Ganderbal on Tuesday organised a day-long Job Fair at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Duderhama, here.
The fair was inaugurated by Nissar Ahmad Wani, Director Employment, J&K.
The job fair was organized with the purpose to provide a convenient platform to the educated unemployed youth/job seekers and to facilitate their interaction with employers for their placements.
The event saw an overwhelming response from the job seekers/ unemployed youth from the district.
On the occasion, Director Employment J&K interacted with the youth and other stakeholders. He informed and counseled them about various opportunities being offered by the department. He also encouraged them to grab any such opportunities with both hands.
President, Integrated Textile and Handicrafts Park Zakura, Syed Afaq Qadri also spoke about opportunities and vacancies in the handicrafts sector in the district.
Among others, the event was also attended by Director RSETI Ganderbal, Deputy Director Employment, Vice Principal Govt. Boys HSS Duderhama, Social Activists, Media Fraternity Ganderbal, beneficiaries and staff of DE&CC Ganderbal.
The job fair saw the participation of more than 1000 job seekers & artisans. 180 job seekers were shortlisted on spot by 15 different employers. 21 candidates were also selected on the spot. More candidates will be adjusted in the coming days.
At the event, different line departments and skill training providers had installed their stalls for on spot registration and awareness.
An interactive session was also held between the Director, Officers, Employers, other stakeholders and success stories.
Director Employment later on handed over mementos, certificates and offer letters to the beneficiaries.
