Degree College Kilhotran inspires future voters through awareness program
DODA, April 16: An awareness program to encourage eligible voters was organized at Degree College Kilhotran, Gandoh in Doda district under the guidance of District Election Officer Vishesh Mahajan.
The program was chaired by Principal Prof. Javed Iqbal, accompanied by teaching staff, to create awareness among students from various streams for their future participation in the electoral process.
During the program, the attendees participated in a pledge to enroll as voters and exercise their right to franchise. The pledge was taken by both the teaching staff and students to ensure that democracy reaches every corner of society.
Furthermore, various activities like debate and discussions were organized to encourage the youth to participate in the democratic process by enrolling themselves in the electoral roll and casting their votes during the elections.
The attendees were informed that the Summary Revision will continue till April 20, and BLOs will be available with form 6, 7, and 8 for addition, deletion, and transposition, etc.
The eligible voters who turned 18 years of age on April 1, 2023, can fulfill the required formalities to be added to the electoral roll. Additionally, prospective voters who will attain the age of 18 years between July 1 and October 1 can also submit their form 6 to the concerned BLO. Voters can also access the www.nvsp.in portal for such services.
