Delhi CM holds meeting with officials, reviews preparations for ‘Chhath Puja’
New Delhi [India], October 14 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Monday held a high-level review meeting with district magistrates and reviewed preparations for ‘Chhath Puja’.
“This year AAP government will prepare 1000+ Chhath Ghats in Delhi. For the convenience of devotees, a big model Chhath Ghat will be built in every assembly constituency. Light, clean water, toilets, tents, security, medical facility, CCTV etc. will be arranged on the ghats,” AAP posted on X.
Chhath Puja is a festival dedicated to the sun that is celebrated in several Indian states and even outside the country. The festival will be celebrated this year from November 5 to 8.
Earlier in the day, Atishi met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Monday.
“Called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji today. I look forward to full cooperation between the Centre and the Delhi government for the welfare and progress of our capital,” Atishi posted on X.
Atishi took oath as Delhi Chief Minister in September following resignation of Arvind Kejriwal. Atishi became the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi, following Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dikshit.
There have been differences between the AAP government and Delhi LG Vinai Kumar Saxena over a range of issues.
The Delhi government’s Public Works Department (PWD) offered the 6 Flag Staff Road bungalow (CM House) to Chief Minister Atishi on October 11. The allotment of bungalow led to tussle involving the AAP, BJP and the LG office.
Delhi is expected to go to the polls early next year.
