Delhi LG launches Vigilance Complaint Information Management System portal

New Delhi [India], September 21 (ANI): Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena launched the Vigilance Complaint Information Management System (VCIMS) portal, which is believed to be conducive to speedy action in dealing with and monitoring complaints on corruption, an official statement said on Thursday.

“VCIMS will enable the common man to file vigilance complaints at any time from anywhere against an employee of Delhi Government, MCD, NDMC, DDA, Delhi Police and other Autonomous Organizations and Institutions of Delhi Government and also deter vexatious complaints by the blackmailers”, LG Saxena said during the launch event.

The Lieutenant Governor added, “This first-of-its-kind initiative in the country. It will prove to be an effective tool to achieve the goal of zero tolerance for corruption by ensuring a faceless interface between the Government and the general public, who avail government service”.

As per an official statement, the anti-corruption online portal will help in speedy action in dealing with and monitoring complaints on corruption with transparency and secrecy.

Now the complaints against corruption received in physical form will not be taken cognizance of, it added.

It is worth mentioning that the move comes following the LG’s intervention seeking review and disposal of corruption complaints witnessed by the national capital in recent times.

“This portal is an initiative, which aims to provide a facility to the common man to lodge corruption/vigilance-related complaints through a single online portal.  It will keep the complainant’s identity confidential and thereby reduce corruption considerably”, said the official statement.

It will also allow a common man to file complaints in cases of demand of bribe or illegal gratification by Public/Government Servants, it added.
