Delhi: One person arrested in sweet shop firing in Tilak Nagar
New Delhi [India], August 25 (ANI): Delhi police have arrested one of the two bike-borne assailants who opened fire at a sweet shop in Delhi’s Tilak Nagar, officials said on Sunday.
According to the police, the accused, identified as Vishnu alias Kranti, a member of Nandu gang, fired bullets at Singla Sweets Shop on Friday.
The other accused is still absconding, police said.
On Friday, two bike-borne assailants opened fire at Singla Sweets Shop in Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area.
According to officials, the incident occurred at around 11:15 pm on Friday when unknown persons fired bullets at Singla’s Sweets shop. The bullets hit the front glass of the shop.
Following information, the crime team and the district operations unit responded immediately and arrived at the spot.
Delhi Police said that an FIR has been filed under relevant provisions of law, and an investigation is underway.
Two bike-borne assailants had come on a bike, fired multiple shots at the shop’s front glass, and then fled the spot on the same bike, officials said.
Four empty cartridges were recovered from the spot.
“No person has been hit by the bullets,” police said, adding that multiple teams have been formed to gather information and check the assailants’ route.
