As per the police, a case was registered under sections 109(1), 3(5) BNS & 25/27 Arms Act at Police Station Dayal Pur, Delhi. The accused, Faisal, Altamas, and others, attempted to murder Umair, a resident of New Mustafabad, following an altercation on August 21.
Police said that the incident occurred on the night of August 23 in New Mustafabad, North-East Delhi, where Umair was attacked by a group of assailants, including Faisal, Altamas, and others, in retaliation for an earlier altercation.

The police also mentioned that during interrogation, Altamas confessed to his involvement in the attempt to murder Umair, along with his accomplices Faisal, Sameer, Amaan, and Fazil.
He revealed that the attack was in retaliation for a previous altercation. On the night of the attack, the group attacked Umair and fired upon him with a Pistol.
