Delhi police bust interstate arms supply cartel, two held
New Delhi [India], August 25 (ANI): The Special Cell of the Delhi Police on Sunday claimed to have busted an interstate cartel involved in the supply of illegal arms, arresting two key members and recovering eight pistols from them.
The pistols were procured from Khargone in Madhya Pradesh and were meant to be supplied in Delhi/NCR, the police said.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Arvind Kumar and Vinod Kumar, residents of Uttar Pradesh.
Police said that the duo was involved in the supply of illegal arms and had connections with illegal arms manufacturers in Madhya Pradesh.
According to the police, the accused used social media platforms to supply illegal arms, procuring them from Madhya Pradesh at a rate of Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000 per pistol and selling them in Delhi at a rate of Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 per pistol.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Arms Act, and further investigation is underway to uncover the forward and backward linkages of this network, they added.
