Delhi Police’s ANTF nabs drug peddler connected to international drug trafficking syndicate
New Delhi [India], July 26 (ANI): The sleuths of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Delhi Police nabbed a drug peddler with links to a drug nexus based in Afghanistan in the Lajpat Nagar area of Delhi.
An Afghan national named Hasan Reza was apprehended by Delhi Police’s ANTF on Thursday with 512 grams of heroin worth more than one crore in the international market.
The drug peddler was nabbed by the police from the Haji Hamid area of Lajpat Nagar upon information provided by an informant about an Afghan national who would deliver a huge amount of heroin to one of his receivers at the Sant Kanwar Ram Mandir in Lajpat Nagar between 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM.
Upon receiving the above information, a raid was conducted in the Lajpat Nagar area and a trap was laid out by the police. During this operation, the accused, Hasan Reza, was apprehended and thereafter a search of the transparent, weighty polythene that he was carrying was conducted and 512 grams of heroin were recovered. Hasan concealed the drugs inside a juice packet.
During the interrogation, he disclosed that he was a part of an international drug trafficking syndicate and he was procuring heroin in huge quantity from Afghanistan and further selling it to his receivers in India.
