DEO chairs Training-cum-Review Meeting of Nodal Officers at Kishtwar

Stakeholder asked to adhere to ECI guidelines


KISHTWAR, AUGUST 25: District Election Officer (DEO) Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today chaired a comprehensive Training-cum-Review meeting with all Nodal Officers in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to review the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in the district.


At the outset, the DEO held an interactive session with the Nodal Officers to assess key aspects of the election process, primarily aimed at ensuring free, fair, smooth, and transparent elections in all three assembly constituencies of Kishtwar district.


The DEO conducted a first-hand appraisal of the preparations concerning various crucial aspects and activities for the Assembly Elections, including the assessment of logistical requirements, manpower management plans, transportation of poll staff, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Postal Ballots, training management, expenditure monitoring, SVEEP activities, Flying Squad Teams, Static Surveillance Teams, Media Certification and Monitoring Committees, adherence to the Model Code of Conduct, the functioning of the Control Room, voter registration, and the status of polling stations, to ensure a clean and incident-free election.


Special focus was placed on the SVEEP awareness program ahead of the Assembly Elections, involving all stakeholders and activating Booth Level Teams to spread awareness for maximum voter participation. The DEO also instructed the involvement of Youth Icons in the district for the SVEEP campaign.


The DEO reviewed the preparedness for unique polling stations in all three Assembly Constituencies. He directed the Nodal Officers to take all required measures to ensure that every necessary facility is made available at polling locations and distribution centers. He also urged them to mobilize all available resources on the ground to ensure an effective and meticulous election management plan.


The DEO further directed the officers to undertake visits to polling stations to ensure that all requisite arrangements (Assured Minimum Facilities) are in place in adherence to the guidelines of the ECI.


The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ghulam Rasool, Deputy District Election Officer (Dy-DEO) Idrees Lone, CPO Kishtwar Shahnawaz Bali, ACD Kishtwar Phulail Singh, Election Nodal Officers, and other concerned officials.
