DEO flags off mega Voter awareness rally under SVEEP in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 24: To promote Voter awareness among people, District Election Officer Udhampur, Saloni Rai on Saturday flagged off a mega rally under the aegis of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation campaign here from the DC Office Complex.

Deputy District Election Officer Dr. Anirudh Rai; District Panchayat Officer and SVEEP Nodal Officer Dr. Preeti Sharma; Chief Education Officer, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, as well as representatives from various departments, students and staff members of different educational institutions participated in the awareness event.

The rally passed through Slathia Chowk, Court Road, Ramnagar Chowk, Gole Market and the Bus Stand and culminated at Mini Stadium.

The DEO Udhampur stated that the primary aim of the rally was to educate the common masses, particularly the youth, about the importance of participating in the democratic process through voting. She underscored the vital role of each vote in strengthening democracy and encouraged all eligible voters to strive for 100% voter turnout in the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections.

Later, District Administration Udhampur organized a kite-flying event under the SVEEP initiative at the Sports Stadium Udhampur. The Deputy Commissioner participated in the event as the chief guest. She said the Kite flying event symbolizes freedom and democratic spirit.
