DEO flags off SVEEP Van to promote voter awareness in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 07: District Election Officer Saloni Rai, today flagged off a SVEEP Van here from DC Office Complex Udhampur to spread voter awareness ahead of the upcoming General Assembly Elections 2024.


Addressing the media, the DEO highlighted the objective of the initiative, which is to educate the public on the significance of systematic voter education and active electoral participation. She emphasized the crucial role the voters play in strengthening democracy, urging all citizens to ensure a higher voter turnout in the upcoming elections.


The DEO also stressed the goals of the SVEEP campaign, underscoring the need for widespread awareness. She encouraged citizens to exercise their right to vote to contribute to a robust and vibrant democracy, and called on individuals to take an active part in spreading electoral awareness within their communities.


Special emphasis was placed on the participation of Persons with Disabilities, women, first-time voters, senior citizens and youth.


The DEO urged all officers to work with diligence to enhance voter turnout and to ensure the preparation of error-free electoral rolls for the forthcoming General Assembly Elections.
