DEO Leh Santosh Sukhadeve convenes meeting regarding General Lok Sabha Election 2024
Leh, Mar 27, 2024: The District Election Office/ Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve convened a meeting in connection with the forthcoming General Election to Lok Sabha, 2024 in the VC hall, DC office on March 27.
The primary objective of the meeting was to brief the role and responsibility of the nodal officer.
DC interacted with all the concerned officers and addressed all their issues separately.
ADDC, Leh, Sonam Norboo pointed out the need for a video monitoring room where the MCC violation can be detected and monitored on a regular basis. It was informed that they need at least two rooms with computers so that any violation can be supervised effectively.
It was further informed that a static surveillance team and flying squad and surveillance team was formed and DC instructed that it needs to be monitored and the reports should come on a daily basis.
ADIO, NIC, Tashi Tundup informed the need to make the ballot paper digital as well and also suggested to hire an ARO as there will be a different ballot paper for the senior citizen. It was also informed that the flying squad and surveillance team need proper training. Regarding transportation, electric buses, mazda, tempo and helipads will be made available. ACR, Leh, Shabir Hussain informed the need to send notice to the political parties and government employees for MCC violation or the need for investigation and penalty.
DC Leh discussed the measures that need to be taken for the low voter turnout in Leh. He instructed for voter education and awareness at the village, block and district level and social media awareness. He also suggested to promote voter awareness through wall artwork and paintings also. Besides, he directed all the SDM, Tehsildar and officers to spread awareness and to work out the problem of low voter turnout in Leh.
The meeting was attended by JKAS, ARTO, Leh, Inzar Rana, ACR, Leh, Shabir Hussain, ADIO, NIC, Leh, Tashi Tundup, JKAS, ADDC, Leh, Sonam Norboo, and the other heads of the concerned department.
