DEO Poonch reviews Action plan for holding Polling station level Training, Awareness Programmes
Emphasizes importance of EVM training, urges trainers to create awareness among public
POONCH DECEMBER 12: In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election-2024, the District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary today conducted a comprehensive review of the training, awareness, and demonstration programmes to be conducted at polling station level in the district.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi, Deputy District Election Officer, Gurpinder Singh, SDM Mendhar, Jahangir Khan, SDM Surankote, Rizwan Asgar, PO IWMP, Israr Ahmed, Naib Tehsildar Election, Zulafkar Ali Malik, besides DLMT & ALMTs and other concerned were present in the meeting.
Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, the training sessions are scheduled to commence from December 15, 2023 and will continue until February 29,2024 across the district. The aim of these sessions is to equip election officials and the general public with the necessary knowledge and understanding of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and ensure the smooth conduct of the election process.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all district-level master trainers and assembly constitution-level trainers to diligently educate the public about Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and ensure the successful setup of training sessions at all polling stations.
The DC stressed the importance of providing comprehensive training and awareness to both election officials and the general public, particularly regarding the functioning and usage of EVMs. The Deputy Commissioner expressed his confidence that through effective training and awareness programmes, the district would witness a smooth and successful election process.
The district-level master trainers and assembly constitution-level trainers have been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting training sessions across all polling stations in the district.
The District Election Officer further highlighted that the training and awareness campaign would extend beyond the polling stations, reaching every nook and corner of the district. He also stressed that to disseminate the information through various mediums, including print media, social media platforms etc. This multi-pronged approach will ensure that every eligible voter is well-informed about the election process and the significance of their participation.
