DEO Poonch reviews expenditure monitoring ahead of Assembly Elections

POONCH, SEPTEMBER 13: District Election Officer (DEO) Poonch, Vikas Kundal, convened a crucial review meeting to assess expenditure monitoring strategies ahead of the Assembly Elections in Poonch. The meeting was attended by the Deputy DEO, Assistant Expenditure Observers, Flying Squad Teams, and other key election officials responsible for maintaining transparency and legality during the election process.


DEO Vikas Kundal emphasized the importance of vigilant expenditure monitoring to safeguard the integrity of the elections, stressing that adherence to expenditure norms is essential for free and fair elections. He directed officials to maintain strict surveillance on political party spending and take prompt action on any violations.


The meeting discussed various aspects of election expenditure, including cash use, social media campaigns, and distribution of promotional materials. DEO Poonch also reviewed the operational preparedness of the Flying Squad Teams and Static Surveillance Teams tasked with ensuring compliance.


Special emphasis was placed on the role of Video Viewing Teams and Assembly Level Expenditure Monitoring Teams in maintaining a daily flow of reports. Each of the three constituencies in Poonch – Haveli, Surankote, and Mendhar – has its own Constituency Level Expenditure Monitoring Team, actively tracking candidates’ expenses.

The Assembly Level Teams provided a detailed briefing on the expenditures observed so far.
