DEO Poonch reviews preparations for Lok Sabha Election 2024
POONCH, MARCH 17: District Election Officer, Yasin M. Choudhary, who is also the District Election Officer (DEO), chaired a meeting to assess the progress of the upcoming Lok Sabha Election-2024, focused on ensuring proper arrangements at polling booths, adherence to Election Commission guidelines and maximizing voter participation.
The meeting was attended by the ADDC Sandesh Kumar Sharma, ADC Tahir Mustafa Malik, Deputy DEO Saleem Ahmed and all the appointed Nodal Officers responsible for various election-related assignments in the district.
DEO stressed the need to fulfill basic requirements at all 474 polling stations and also directed the concerned to launch awareness campaigns to encourage maximum voting turnout.
DEO directed the nodal officers to be well-prepared for their respective roles and responsibilities during the election. Their commitment to upholding electoral laws, regulations, and ethical standards was stressed to ensure the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.
The discussions during the meeting covered operational, logistical, and administrative aspects essential for the smooth functioning of the electoral process.
The total number of polling stations in Poonch district is 474 and the Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the polling date for District Poonch on May 7, 2024 and with the counting scheduled for June 4, 2024.
The DEO’s focus on meticulous preparations and maximum voter participation reflects the district’s commitment to conducting a successful and democratic Lok Sabha Election in 2024.
