DEO Rajouri convenes meeting with political parties ahead of Assembly Elections 2024

RAJOURI, AUGUST 19: In a significant step towards ensuring the smooth conduct of the forthcoming Assembly Elections, District Election Officer (DEO) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today chaired a crucial meeting with representatives from various political parties. The meeting focused on the importance of upholding the highest ethical standards as per the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and other guidelines established by the Election Commission of India (ECI).


During the session, key discussions were held on critical issues including adherence to MCC provisions, the process for obtaining permissions for media advertisements, campaign logistics, and the timely initiation of candidate bank accounts as per the ECI’s stipulations.


DEO Sharma emphasized the collective responsibility of all political stakeholders to maintain integrity, fairness, and transparency throughout the electoral process. He reiterated the pivotal role of political parties in upholding the democratic values of the nation, urging their full cooperation and strict adherence to the ECI’s guidelines.
