DEO Rajouri inspects MCMC cell
RAJOURI, MARCH 24: District Election Officer (DEO), Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat undertook a comprehensive inspection of Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) Cell established at PWD Dakbunglow here.
During his visit, the DEO engaged with staff deployed at cell stressing on the paramount importance of operating with utmost sincerity and diligence to ensure smooth functioning of the cell.
He emphasized on the pivotal role of MCMC centre at the district level, highlighting its adherence to the guidelines set forth by the Election Commission of India.
The MCMC cell stands as defence against paid news, playing a pivotal role in safeguarding the sanctity of electoral process during the Lok Sabha Elections-2024.
The DEO underscored the necessity of adopting a proactive stance to uphold principles of a free, fair, transparent and seamless electoral conduct.
Through meticulous scrutiny, the committee ensures that political advertisements slated for telecast or broadcast across various mediums, including television, radio, social media platforms, and cable networks, comply with the regulatory framework established by the Election Commission.
Member Secretary MCMC (District Information Officer) Rajouri, Mohd Nawaz Choudhary also accompanied the DEO during the visit.
