DEO Reviews Progress of Special Summary Revision in Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, NOVEMBER 02: District Election Officer Udhampur, Saloni Rai today chaired a crucial meeting in the Mini Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex, to review the ongoing Special Summary Revision for the year 2023-24, with the qualifying date set as January 1, 2024.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Deputy District Election Officer, Gurdev Kumar, Sub Divisional Magistrate Shishir Gupta, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Rafiq Ahmed Jaral, and other officers.
During the meeting, a comprehensive discussion took place on the smooth execution of the SSR 2023-24 in the district- which included the draft publication of photo electoral rolls, strategies for addressing left-out voters, identification of PwD (Persons with Disabilities) voters and senior citizens, ensuring assured minimum facilities, engagement with political parties, meetings with BLOs (Booth Level Officers) and supervisors, management of newly created polling stations, and the distribution of electoral rolls to BLOs. Clear directives were issued to all stakeholders to ensure that the set goals are achieved, leaving no eligible voters behind.
The DEO directed the EROs (Electoral Registration Officers) and AEROs (Assistant Electoral Registration Officers) to complete the special summary revision, which involves adding new voters, rectifying omissions, and removing duplicate entries, before the stipulated due date. She emphasized the need for the officers to mobilize their teams and machinery to complete the SSR 2023-24 within the allocated time frame.
EROs and AEROs were instructed to verify the posting of electoral rolls in their respective polling stations and submit reports accordingly.
All individuals involved in the SSR process were encouraged to work with dedication and enthusiasm, ensuring that the entire exercise is executed in a time-bound manner with a 100 percent enrollment of eligible voters.
