DEO Udhampur reviews preparedness for upcoming Assembly Elections

Direct officers to launch plantation drive in green polling stations


UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 10: District Election Officer Udhampur, Saloni Rai held a comprehensive meeting with all nodal officers to assess the preparedness for the upcoming General Assembly Elections 2024 in the district at Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur.


During the meeting, a detailed discussion was conducted on multiple key aspects including Assured Minimum Facilities at all polling stations, Conducting plantation drives at green and other polling stations, downloading Green SVEEP App, enhancing SVEEP activities, home voting procedures, voter slip distribution and cleanliness drives.


The DEO directed the nodal officers to conduct extensive plantation drives across all polling stations, ensuring that 100% of the stations are covered by September 2024. She also emphasized the need to accelerate SVEEP activities throughout the district to increase voter turnout.


The concerned officers were instructed to guide Booth Level Officers in conducting Green SVEEP drives in their respective areas. The DEO urged the officers to set a target of planting over 100 plants at polling stations identified as green polling stations. She emphasized that the meeting aimed to ensure all necessary preparations are in place and any shortcomings are addressed promptly to ensure a smooth and successful electoral process.


The DEO called for enhanced SVEEP activities to effectively engage and educate voters with a particular focus on maximizing voter turnout. She also instructed the officers to ensure that AMFs are available at all polling stations and to vigilantly implement the Model Code of Conduct, ensuring strict compliance with its provisions to prevent any violations.
