DEO visits remote Paddal Polling Station to promote voter awareness

SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 15: To encourage voter participation, District Election Officer (DEO) Samba, Rajesh Sharma, along with a team of officials, visited Paddal Polling Station to host a Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation event. The polling station is located in a remote village across the Devika River and accessible through a challenging trek.


Accompanying the DEO were SSP Vinay Kumar; ADC Jagdish Singh; SVEEP Nodal Officer Ekshu Sharma and other government functionaries.


During the visit, DEO Rajesh Sharma and SSP Vinay Sharma interacted with the residents of the remote village, motivating them to actively participate in the electoral process and exercise their right to vote in the upcoming General Assembly Elections scheduled on 1st October 2024. The DEO stressed the importance of every vote and the role of citizens in shaping the future of the state.


In addition to inspecting the polling station, the DEO visited the Middle School Paddal, where he interacted with teachers and students, emphasizing the value of education in fostering informed and responsible citizenship. He also inspected the Health and Wellness Centre in the village to take stock of the healthcare facilities being provided to the residents.


This visit forms part of the larger SVEEP campaign, which is focused on raising awareness and ensuring the highest possible voter turnout, particularly in remote and far-flung areas of the district.
