Department of Commerce Introduces Scholarship for Meritorious Students of Govt. Middle School, Kotli under Extension & Outreach Activities

JAMMU, May 22: P.G. Department of Commerce, University of Jammu under outreach and extension activities programme visited Government Middle School Kotli (Birpur), Zone Vijaypur to appreciate the academic performance of students in recently held exams. The meritorious students from classes 8^th to 5^th were awarded scholarships and certificate distribution program was also organized in the aforesaid school.

The scholarship in the form of cash award and certificate of appreciation were given to the position holders. Six teachers of the school were also given certificates of appreciation for their true and selfless service as nation builders. Dr. Jeevan Jyoti, HoD motivated the students to progress in their life and help others to achieve their dreams in life too. Required counselling was also provided to the teachers to spread awareness among the villagers to provide basic education to their wards. The faculty members also distributed refreshment among the students of the school and assured the school management that all kinds of support (both financial and non-financial) will be provided to the needy and meritorious students of the school. 

The management of the school appreciated the efforts of the Department in providing scholarship and certificate of appreciation to the meritorious students and teachers. Dr. Tarsem Lal, Associate Professor and coordinator of the outreach and extension activities of the Department coordinated the event whereas Dr. Harleen accompanied the team to the school.
