Department of Computer Science & IT, Jammu University organizes an interactive session on the topic Mind Matters.

Jammu, August 23: An interactive session on the topic: Mind Matters was organized at the Department of Computer Science & IT, University of Jammu, today. Shri Rohit Ranjan, BHU Alumni, Ex GE capital, International Faculty, The Art of Living, currently serving as Institutional Program Director, J&K, was the main speaker. Shri Ajay Kapoor, State Coordinator, Art of Living Media, Communications & Projects J&K, was also the resource person.

Prof. Pawanesh Abrol, Head, Department of Computer Science & IT, while welcoming the participants and the guests emphasized the significance of a healthy mind for the overall development of the students. Prof. Abrol said that in the era of the latest computing technologies like brain computer interface, GPT, machine learning, augmented reality, virtual reality, quantum computing and extended reality, the skills to control the mind have become equally important for balancing emotional and mental state and for achieving success in academics and research. Prof. Lalit Sen Sharma, Provost, Boys Hostel, also expressed his views on the need of the stress management and personality development specially for students and presented the mementos to the guests.

Shri. Rohit Ranjan, while interacting with the students elaborated on the different techniques of controlling and minimizing the stress and anxiety in day- to- day working. He also gave some tricks and played some mind games with the students which were very helpful to relieve the stress. He reiterated that such activities can keep the person energetic for the entire day if these are practiced daily. Shri. Ajay Kapoor, also interacted with the students. He said that he has been regularly following some of the mind controlling techniques for the last many years which has helped him balance the family and professional life in a very healthy and energetic way.

Dr. Shubhnandan S. Jamwal, presented the formal vote of thanks while Dr. Ayushi Gupta compered the proceedings. Shri. Jasbir Singh, Dr. Suresh Rao, Shri, Anil Tikoo, Shri. Sanjay Manhas, Er. Gurpal and Dr. Sudesh Triphati besides the students and scholars of the Department of Computer Science & IT, and the Department of Strategic and Regional Studies, JU attended the session.
