Department of CSE & CSIT, CU Jammu Inaugurated one week AICTE Sponsored ATAL FDP

Jammu, November 18: The Department of CSE & CSIT at Central University of Jammu inaugurated a one-week AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Exploring the Synergy of IoT and Machine Learning from Sensors to Intelligent Systems” on November 18, 2024. The inaugural session was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, Central University of Jammu, and Prof.

Dinesh Kumar, Head of the Department of CSE & CSIT. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Singh, Coordinator of the FDP, welcomed the participants and expressed gratitude for the constant encouragement and able guidance of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, whose visionary leadership continues to inspire academic excellence and innovative initiatives at the university.

Prof. Yashwant Singh emphasized on the need of IoT and ML in today’s world in context to different applications in his address. Prof. Dinesh Kumar encourages the participants and focuses on constant learning on the advanced technologies like; ML, AI and IoT integration in our day to day life and how can further explore these technologies potentials.  Dr. Pradeep Kumar Singh shared about the importance of the ATAL FDP program, and expressed formal votes of thanks.

Prof. Sudeep Tanwar from Nirma University delivered the keynote address on “Integrating Blockchain, IoT, and AI for Smart Systems,” emphasizing the transformative potential of emerging technologies. This was followed by an insightful session by Dr. Nagesh Kumar from Chitkara University, who presented case studies on “IoT-based Case Studies: Smart Cities and Beyond.” A total of 39 participants have registered for this week-long FDP, which is scheduled from November 18 to 23, 2024. The programme aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between IoT and Machine Learning, equipping faculty with the tools to drive innovation in intelligent systems. The speakers from IIT, NIT and other reputed institutions will deliver the sessions in upcoming days on the above theme.
