Department of Dogri, University of Jammu celebrated Dogri Manta Din

JAMMU,December 22: Today on 22nd December, 2023 Post Graduate Department of Dogri, University of Jammu celebrated Dogri Manta Din in a simple but impressive function held in the Department.

A function started with Prof. Susham Sharma, Former HOD of Dogri on behalf of HOD dogri Prof. Sucheta Pathania, welcoming the Guests, faculty members, scholars and students of Dogri Department present on the occasion. .Other faculty members Dr, Padam Dev Singh, Dr. Sandeep Dubey, Dr. Radha, Dr. Shashi Bharti along with non-teaching staff also present in this function.

Renowned Dogri Artists Smt. Santosh Sangra, J.R. Sagar, Jank Khajuria, Madan Rangila and Narang present a radio play “Shekdiyan Dharan” witten by Santosh Sangra and the student of 3rd Semster Mr. Pankaj Sharma also company the Team as a young artist.

On this historical day the students of the department Taman, Neeru, Daleep Singh, Vejanti Mala, Raj kumar, Sunita Devi recited their poems and Sudharshan Singh, Kanika Jamwal display the dogra dress and Cuisine,. A Scholar Ms. Savtentrta also present a short story on this occasion, and a Student from Department of Political Science Ms.Visham Preet Singh also participated in this function. The mementoes were also presented by the Head of the Department to all the participants\

Prof. Sucheta Pathania, HOD & Dean Faculty of Arts, in his address said that constitutional recognition has opened new vistas for Dogri language but at the same time entrusted new responsibilities upon the Dogras. He stressed to adopt an open approach to integrated Dogri with day to day business of life like education, business and commerce, information technology, science and media. She also stressed upon the essentiality of Government patronage in development of Dogri and other regional languages.

The proceeding of the programme was conducted by Suriya Banoo and Daleep Singh students of the department, whereas, Dr. Padam Dev Singh presented vote of thanks as conclusion of the programme.
